Castomize Casts: How it Works

Castomize Casts: How Our Innovative Technology Works

At Castomize, we’re transforming orthopaedic care with our state-of-the-art casts, designed using pioneering 4D-printing technology. Here’s a closer look at how our cutting-edge solution works:

Advanced 4D-Printing Technology

4D-printing technology is when a 3D-printed object adapts to its environment. This allows the cast to mould seamlessly to the environment it’s applied to, such as your arm, providing a perfect fit every time.

Customizable Fit

When heated to its optimal temperature, the cast becomes flexible and can be stretched to accommodate various patient sizes. This ensures that each cast is tailored to the individual’s specific needs.

Immobilisation

Upon cooling, the cast hardens, applying the optimal amount of pressure to immobilise the affected limb, promoting effective healing and recovery.

Easy Removal

Our design engineering team identified the opportunity to eliminate the need for cast saws by incorporating in-built removable clips. When it’s time to remove the cast, a simple pin unlocks the clasps, allowing the cast to be easily slid off the patient’s limb—no cutting, no discomfort.

Resizing Capability

If resizing is needed, such as for patients experiencing muscle shrinkage during recovery, the cast can be reheated and adjusted to ensure continued comfort and effectiveness.

Castomize’s casts are designed to provide superior immobilisation and support, making them an ideal choice for patients during recovery.
